  • Sales Tax Hurricane 2012

Are you ready for severe weather? With hurricane/flooding season starting June 1, now is the time to take steps to stay safe before, during and after severe weather. This year, the Hurricane Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday is May 25-31. Sales Tax Holidays are temporary periods when sales taxes are not collected or paid on all or a specific class of purchases. The seven-day holiday for hurricane preparedness equipment begins at 12:01 a.m. on May 25 and ends at midnight on May 31. Plan to go shopping the last week of May, and you will save money on many useful items (PDF). Stock up on supplies for protecting your home and business (Word) during hurricane and flooding season. You also can add items to your family’s emergency supply kit.
